He hoped they call him on a Mission...

And he got one! Spain Madrid Mission

Elder Bryce Jeppson

MTC Mailbox # 206

SPA-MAD 0421

2005 N. 900 E.

Provo, UT 84604-1793

We went to the Provo Missionary Training Center (MTC) on April 1st. Our meeting was at 12:00 PM. The meeting was for family members and the missionaries. “They” changed the pictures in the chapel. After the hour meeting, what do you do but say "Good-bye"..... We were in the second row in the chapel, and Elder Jeppson was first person to walk out! When Bobby, Christie and Levi went to MTC, the door was in the back of the chapel. Now, the missionaries door is at the front of the chapel.

So, I kissed Bryce, then Dad hugged him, and we said

and I didn't cry much.

Sweet day!

My little garden 3

My pixie looks whimsy in my little garden.

When Katie made a comment on my blog, I remembered that I took two pictures with a "charming little garden statue".
Where did I get that sweet garden pixie?
I got it from Katie!
Thanks, Katie! (again)

I love my lilttle garden!

When Seth,Lindsey and Lily came to Blythe for Thanksgiving I went with them to look for a house in Gilbert. We also went to Seth's Nursery and I bought plants for my little garden, with the help of a professional! I loved seeing him in action! You can tell he loves being a horticulturist!

Seth and Lindsey planted all the plants. It looked so nice! It is a low-maintenance garden. Thanks to Seth, with his knowledge. He knew the best flowers to plant and where to put them.

I wish I took a picture that day. It has grown since that day, and I weeded it and watering it. Then the rain came and I didn't even had to watering. Then I went to Texas for a week and all the weeds grew up in my little garden. I couldn't see my flowers in my little garden!!!! I was tired from my trip and no time to weed, because we were having a Moving Sale this week. So the weeds grow stronger and taller. Oh, no!!!

So, yesterday I finally tended to my little garden. I'll get a picture or two of my little garden today. I'll post them this evening.

Thanks Lindsey and mostly Seth!

This is a guest blog from the husband. It is official!!! I submitted my letter today. June 25th will be my last day at Palo Verde High School. I will be officially retired. What a feeling. People keep asking me why I have a big grin on my face. It is the same grin I had the day I was released as Bishop.
It is the relief grin. I now tell people that I have the answers to all of the problems in education. Retirement. Now its your problem not mine.

All we have to do is fix up and sell two properties in a bad market and then we will be ready to head to our (well, almost ours) new house in North Carolina.

Short PPA Update

The new medicine made my feet and legs swell (and hot and red). Bye-bye, Nifedipine!

We will try the shots again. It's the dose thing. Dr Maier asked me to wait to get the Enbrel out of my system and then try a smaller dose.

I know that the Enbrel helped at the beginning, so I'll try to be patient.

What can I say?

1.Lily came to our house on Feb 5. They got there at nine-ish. Lily warmed up to us quickly. She is so sweet, fun and funny!!! The next morning left to LA for my shots. It was raining. We were planning to shop for Bryce's mission but between the rain and the traffic, we didn't have time to shop. We shopped after the Dr. appointment. We went to Aaron and Jamie's apt for dinner then we drove to Paul's house. Lori and Cori weren't there, but Paul and Bob had a good visit.

2.On the 7th, I, Bob, Bryce, Aaron, Jamie, Lindsey, Seth and Ray went to the New Port Beach California Temple. It was a wonderful time. I love my family! Bryce isn't my baby. Wow!

3.My PPA is not getting better; I think the Enbrel shots aren't working. The doctor thinks that we have to find the right dose, but I don't know. I had 7 shots...they told us that most patients find the dose after 3 shots. We are trying a different medicine, along with the Enbrel. I won't tell you the details. We'll see.

2. Bob is very busy. The school district is a mess, financially (and in other ways ,too). It is stressful. One of the ideas to cut people is to offer a retirement deal; maybe Bob will give an offer! He might retire this July!

3. We are getting ready to fix the apartment to sell them. We have two bums who decided to not give us any rent this month so they can find a new apartment. Bob gave notices to leave. Now he has to take them to court. BUMS!!!

4. Bob is busy with the new house. Loans, escrow, etc....and I can't help. Escrow is Feb 17.

5. We are busy getting rid of STUFF! We are having a yard sale, March 7. It is mostly me doing the work, and I am glad that I can help. I enjoy it!

6. I am going to Christie's to help pack and clean...ect. and I will drive with them to Gainsville. I'm excited about that! I leave Phoenix to Midland on Feb. 23, and fly back from Dallas to Phoenix. I will hanging out with Lily in Gilbert; maybe Lindsey and Seth can have a date.

7.Oh, BTW here is their address: 95 W. San Remo St. Gilbert, AZ 85233

8. Bryce got a job at the church farm. He does whatever they do! Sometimes in the office but mostly in the fields, counting haystacks. He helped the full time missionaries (senior couple) built a shed for the farm, and he worked at the farm pool. He also goes home teaching with two men and he goes on splits with the missionaries. He is reading the Book of Mormon in Spanish. He taught the Elders' Quorum lesson. He's good.

Well, that is random and it took only 3 hours. Sigh....

Our new house!

We decided that now is a good time to buy a retirement home in Charlotte. We found this great REPO that is very close to Evan and Gabe and their families. We don't know yet when we are going to move there but the house is what we want and the price was right. It has a great room and master bedroom /bathroom, a kitchen, dining room, a small living rooma 1/2 bath on the first level. It has 3 bedrooms a bonus room and a loft upstairs. The yard is big enough. It is in a nice neighborhood with a community pool. It is a couple of minutes away from Lake Wylie (fishing).
We are just starting escrow. The place should be ours by the end of February.
